Water Features in the Home
Residents that live near or in a coastal community often times take it for granted their closeness to the beach and other bodies of water. Their summers are spent seaside and there is a great attraction to marine life and the lazy lifestyle of beach bums. The sounds of crashing and trickling water has been proven to be soothing to most individuals and the communities near these beach and water communities are equally relaxing.
However, there are more communities in America that aren’t as lucky and have to travel many hours and many miles to check out their neighborhood’s local pool, lake, or beach. Some of these people have never seen a great body of water, if that’s even imaginable. Once they finally get to experience the natural flow of water, they’ll want to take the sights and sounds of flowing water into their own home. It’s absolutely impossible to build a man made body of water into one’s backyard, but there are some solutions to implement the sounds of tricking water into the home.
To start off on a small scale, try out a sound machine that features different scenarios involving streaming water. These machines are usually used to help troubled sleepers, but the soothing sounds can also be played throughout the day to remind residents and house guests of the beautiful sounds of cascading water. Most sound machines play sounds from the rainforest, beach, waterfalls and streams and incorporate related animals into the atmosphere.
Water fountains are also another great way to incorporate the sounds and sights of trickling water into your home away from the water. water fountains are designed in all sorts of shapes and sizes to fit any space, large or small. Wall fountains are ideal for smaller rooms that don’t have much floor space for free standing fountains. Tabletop water fountains are also great and can be placed on the counter tops in the bathroom, kitchen or bedrooms. The designs are endless with water fountains and they can suit any design aesthetic.
Outdoor fountains and garden fountains are ideal for homes that boast large patios and backyards for al fresco entertaining. outdoor fountains are usually made of more sustainable materials, such as stone, marble and slate, so they can with stain extreme weather. Choose from floral motifs, traditional or modern designs to complement any outdoor space. Garden fountains are also very appealing to have in a backyard landscape because they attract garden birds and animals and supply an amazing scene.
The biggest water feature to add to your home to mimic the appearance of trickling water is the addition of a grand swimming pool to your spacious backyard. The feeling won’t be as the same as burying your toes in the sand of a never ending beach, or white water rafting in a rushing rapid, but lounging poolside can be just as fun and exciting. Speak with a local pool contractor and if your budget permits, see if you can assist in designing your own backyard landscape and pool design that best suits your taste. Twisting slides are another great addition to your pool area and will provide many hours of enjoyment during the warm weather season.
Landscapers, homebuilders and interior design manufacturers have come up with many ways to implement water features in and out of your home. From oceanic sound machines, water fountains, wall fountains, outdoor fountains and intricate pool and spa designs, you can have the sights and sounds of trickling water in your home in no time and for half of the cost to trip to the nearest body of water.
